Description:

Renovation of historic W.W.U. Wilson Library 6th floor to convert to staff offices and special collections for rare university holdings.

Notes:

Work included demolition of the 6th floor interior partitions, plus remediation and removal of asbestos containing materials.  Existing open attic space roof and all exterior walls were furred out, and rigid insulation and GWB were installed to meet new Washington State Energy Code.  Electrical system was removed, relocated, and refed from basement area to 6th floor for new electrical, lighting, and fire alarm services.  A portion of the attic space was converted to mechanical space to house new chillers, air handlers, humidifiers, in order to maintain consistent temperature throughout special collections space. 

Interior finishes included new walls, ceilings, sheet vinyl flooring, carpet and paint throughout.  Work also included complete renovation to restrooms on 5th floor and work on 2nd and ground floors.  All work was completed within the project schedule and while the building was fully operational during the school year.
